• Create the
    illusion of
    fuller lips now

Not all of us are blessed with naturally full lips. However, this doesn't mean that you can't easily fake them with the right set of tips and tricks. Follow these steps for your fullest lips yet without having to resort to surgery and injections

Exfoliate

Flake-free lips look better and bigger than dry, chapped ones. For smooth, soft lips, exfoliate them during or after the shower (when skin is softest) by buffing in small circles with a damp washcloth, massaging with gentle facial scrub or lightly brushing lips with a toothbrush to remove dead skin.

Moisturize

Keep lips plump by applying (and re-applying) a hydrating lip balm to lock in moisture and banish future peeling. Plus, tinted lip balms can lend your lips a flattering, even tone. Look for vitamin E, honey, panthenol, various oils, jojoba oil, petrolatum and shea butter.

Plump

Apply a lip plumper before finishing your makeup for that telltale tingle and subsequent fuller pout resulting from delicate lip skin becoming gently irritated (and swelling) because of active ingredients. Look for cinnamon, clove, camphor, menthol and capsicum. If you want a gentler plumper, opt for one that uses collagen or reflecting pigments instead, like Labello Natural Volume.

Line

Use a neutral-coloured lip pencil to draw a subtle, feathered line immediately outside of your natural lip line. Fill in lips with same pencil to camouflage the faux lip line. Blot to secure colour in place. Finish with gloss in the center of lips only.

Gloss

A glossy finish adds dimension. Choose a natural colour lip gloss to flatter thin lips (dark shades make them look smaller) and apply it evenly. Alternatively, finish an all-over, non-gloss lip shade with a dab of clear gloss only in the center – versus all over – of the lips to create an illusion of fullness.

Highlight

Last, pat a hint of highlighter or shimmery pale eye-shadow onto the Cupid's bow (the dip above the middle upper lip). Highlighting this accentuates that curve, drawing the eye just above the lips.

Re-apply

Carry supplies – lip balm, liner, plumper, gloss – with you and re-apply as your product wears off throughout the day.

Et voila... use these beauty tips, you'll have fuller-looking, softer lips than before!
